Work at Height Courses
Work at Height

The Work at Height Regulations apply to all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury, this includes work above or below ground. The Work at Height Regulations bring together all existing work at height regulations and state the minimum health and safety requirements for the use of equipment for work at height.

A total of 61 people died and more than 14,000 suffered injury as a result of a slip, trip or fall from height in British workplaces last year. Fatalities and serious injuries arising from slips, trips and fall incidents cost British society an estimated £700 million last year. They remain the single biggest cause of workplace deaths and one of the main causes of major injury.

Working at height can expose workers to particularly severe risks to their health & safety and continues to be a major cause of death and serious injury. Employers and duty holders have a duty to protect anyone who might be exposed to these risks by ensuring that any form of work at height is properly planned, appropriately supervised and carried out by competent persons, including plans for emergencies and rescue.
